READER REVIEWS:
Of Stan Brush's Farewell the Winterline, Memoirs of a Boyhood in India

2-26-2003 from Raspal Khosa
(emailed to Victoria Brush)

RE: Her poem "Himalayan September"
used as the endpiece in "Farewell The Winterline"

"I just happened upon your poem on Landour in September, which I thought was delightful. It certainly captures a certain essence.

I was in Landour for only a short time in 1996. I found it to be a wonderful place. I think Ruskin Bond's impressive collection of writing describes this part of the Indian Himalaya beautifully."

Cheerio,
Raspal Khosa

5-5-2003 email from Lynne Ribeiro:

"Stan the 'Kharagpur' Man -- what can I say Dear Sir, but Superb -- could not put the book down, and as Cynthia will attest I only received it a couple of days ago, and now I am almost at the end which makes me sad. I recalled the wonderful trips we used to take as a family from Howrah to Kharagpur to visit relatives, to Chakhardapur, Raipur and Nagpur all on the BNR line. Might have mentioned my Dad was a Station Superintendent and these were the stations he got transferred to in his career.

You have given me back some childhood memories that I thought were gone until you opened that little box in my mind. Thanks Stan, beautifully written, any more books -- I wait with bated breath.

All best wishes, sincerely and forever a Fan!!!
Lynne

5-9-2003 from Ruth Osborn,
a handwritten letter to Cynthia Brush

"First of all, I want to say how much I enjoyed your dad's book Farewell The Winterline. So much of what he described resonated with my own memories. Please convey my thanks to him for this great gift to all of us that shared that experience."

Take care,
Ruth
